How to incorporate in all 50 states

Registering your own corporation or limited liability company (LLC) is easy to do. Lawyers and special service companies charge significant fees for filling out forms that you can download from the state web sites or, in many cases, even file online. To form your own corporation, simply find the state in which you want to incorporate below, click on the link and read the information. You will either have to download forms and mail or fax them in with the appropriate payment (or) in a growing number of states, you may fill out the information online and pay with a credit card.

The only outside service you might need is that of a registered agent, if you are filing in a state that you do not live in. The registered agent serves as your official address in the state for corporate filings. Every state will provide you with a list of registered agents. All you need to do is call them and for a small fee they will allow you to use their registered mailing address for your corporation. When looking for a registered agent call several places. Fees vary while the services are typically about the same.
